It is more than 300 years in the making and celebrates everything from clocks to corsets to candy.

The New Haven Museum is set to showcase it's latest exhibit, "From Clocks to Lollipops: Made in New Haven."

"It's a sampling of hundreds of products that were made in New Haven," said Margaret Anne Tockarshewsky, the executive director of the New Haven Museum.

The keepsakes come mostly from the museum's vast collection and span from the colonial era to present day. Among the prized objects are a pair of pianos built in the late 1800s and an original Erector Set.

There is, of course, an acknowledgement of the first hamburger, which came from Louis Lunch, and and an area that reminds visitors that the Elm City was once home to seven different breweries .

"New Haven has an astonishing array of products that were produced here," Tockarshewsky added. "I think it will be a surprise to most people."

The exhibit opens to the public on Thursday Sept. 15 and runs through May at the New Haven Museum. The museum is o-pen Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 a.m. through 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The first Sunday of each month is free fro 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are free for children younger than 12, and cost $4 for adults, $3 for seniors and $2 for students.
