(Fox59) – Happy wife, happy life?
Apparently, it’s true.
A study from Rutgers University says the time-honored saying has real-life meaning for married couples. The happier a woman is in her marriage, the happier her husband will be.
When a woman is happy, she tends to do more for her husband and provide more emotional support. Both have a positive effect on his well-being, researchers said. The reverse doesn’t hold true, the study suggested.
The study analyzed 394 couples who’d been married an average of 39 years; both partners were over 50 years old. Researchers suggested that the participants’ ages may have influenced the results because older couples follow more traditional gender roles than younger ones.
