A bank in Trumbull was robbed Friday morning, and the suspects are still at large.

At around 9:15 a.m., two armed men robbed the People’s United Bank, located at 4180 Madison Ave. in Trumbull. The men showed handguns and jumped over the service counter while demanding cash from the drawers. An undetermined amount of cash was taken in a bag. There were no injuries, and no shots were fired.

They fled in a gray Ford Fusion that was stolen during a carjacking yesterday at the Trumbull Marriott. The car was found just after the bank robbery at the Trumbull Mall, where it had been set on fire. The suspects then fled the mall, heading south on Madison Avenue towards Bridgeport, in two vehicles–an older model pick-up truck, similar to a Chevrolet S-10 and a newer model dark colored (or black) Jeep Cherokee with dark tinted windows. The two cars were waiting in the mall’s parking lot.
