Firefighters Break Into Ledyard Pizza Shop To Put Out Flames

The Ledyard Fire Department had to force entry into a local pizza shop to put out a fire early Friday morning.

Shortly before 2:45 a.m., an alarm went off at Christo’s Pizza at 126 Gallup Hill Road. Ledyard Police were the first to arrive and reported there was a fire.¬†According to the Ledyard Fire Department, crews arrived a short time later and broke into the restaurant to put out the flames.

“Quick actions of responders extinguished the fire and saved the business,” the Department wrote on Facebook.

Christo’s Pizza is also attached to the Pumpkin Hill Market and Bear’s Place Package Store.

No injuries were reported. The Fire Marshall is on scene investigating the cause of the fire.
