After a glorious end to the work week, the weather is heading downhill just in time for the weekend. Clouds will increase tonight with low temperatures in the lower to mid 50s.

This weekend will be 50/50. If you can choose when to schedule outdoor plans, Sunday is the winner. Saturday morning will start off cloudy with areas of drizzle and a few light showers. Steady rain will move in during the afternoon. An embedded thunderstorm is possible in spots with heavy rain and gusty winds. Rain will taper off Saturday night. Sunday looks gorgeous for the Southington Apple Harvest Festival. Temperatures will be on the cool side (lower 60s), despite plenty of sunshine. Fritters anyone!?

Monday remains sunny and will be a little milder with highs near 70 degrees. The next chance for rain after tomorrow will be Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Forecast Details:

Tonight: Increasing clouds. Low: 50s.

Tomorrow: Scattered light showers and drizzle in the morning. Steady rain (some heavy) developing in the afternoon. High: mid 60s.

Sunday: Cool despite plenty of sunshine. High: lower to middle 60s.

Monday: Mostly sunny. High: upper 60s to around 70 degrees.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, chance for a late day shower. Milder. High: upper 60s and low 70s.

Wednesday: Morning showers followed by some clearing. High: upper 60s to around 70 degrees.
