After several cloudy, wet days, high pressure will nose into the region with a beautiful sunny Friday.  A cold front will slowly approach Connecticut with a band of moderate to heavy rain, wind and thunder Saturday afternoon and evening.  Sunshine and cooler temperatures return to Southern New England Sunday with a slight moderation of temperatures by early next week.

On this day in 1979, a F-4 Tornado plowed through the Windsor and Windsor Locks area along Route 75 just east of Bradley International Airport destroying the New England Air Museum and causing over 200 million dollars damage and 3 deaths, making it the ninth most destructive tornado in American History.
