photo 3In honor of the Friends 20th Anniversary, the Central Perk Pop-Up Shop opened its doors and provided free coffee and Friends nostalgia for anyone who braved the long line to get inside.  And, for anyone who came prepared with money to spend, there was a slew of Friends memorabilia available for purchase: the complete series on DVD or Blu-ray, exclusive coffee mugs, picture frames, t-shirts… the list goes on.

On the last night Central Perk was open, Warner Bros. set up an exclusive party for die-hard Friends fans, and we hosted a contest for a winner from Connecticut to get special access to the event.  Check out the clip below of our winner, Patty Roddy, and her granddaughter getting surprised by James Michael Tyler, who played Gunther on Friends, during their interview with PIX11!

Also in attendance were The Rembrandts, who performed the iconic Friends theme song, “I’ll Be There For You” for the show.  They set up mics, pulled out their guitars, and proceeded to play the song, much to the delight of the entire crowd, who launched into a sing-a-long.

However, the Central Perk Pop-Up Shop wasn’t the only awesome thing to come out of the Friends 20th Anniversary year… Netflix announced that starting January 1st, 2015 every single episode of Friends will be available for streaming to anyone with a Netflix account!  They’ll be there for youuuuu… 24/7… finally!

It’s been a good year for all Friends fans.
