Arraignment today for suspect in Norwich liquor store robbery

NORWICH – A man is being held in custody following a reported robbery at Amazing Liquor Store on Sunday, Oct. 19.

Police say a lone white male entered the store, threatened the clerk with a firearm and demanded money from the register.  The suspect then fled on foot towards Dunham Street with an undisclosed amount of money.

After conducting a thorough investigation, the Norwich Police Detective Division developed a suspect.  A search and seizure warrant was executed at the home of Christopher J Griswold, 34, of Norwich, and items from the robbery were discovered.

Griswold was arrested for Robbery 1st degree, Larceny 6th degree, Threatening 1st degree, and Criminal Use of a Firearm and is being held on a $250,000 cash/surety bond.  In addition, Griswold had an outstanding warrant for Violation of Probation with an additional court set bond of $250,000.

Griswold is scheduled for arraignment at Norwich Superior Court Tuesday, Oct. 21.
