What is Open Enrollment and why is it important?
Open enrollment is a time period every year, October 15 – December 7, when Medicare beneficiaries can change or enroll in a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan, or in a Medicare Part C Advantage Plan. This is an important time for people to review their current coverage and make sure that they have the best plan available to them.
Prescription drug Part D plans change every year, and what you had last year may not be the least expensive or may not cover all of your prescriptions any more. So it is important to look at what has changed and see if there might be something better available.
