Two Naugatuck schools put on precautionary lockdown

Naugatuck High School Students On Alert Over Suspicious Man

NAUGATUCK – Two schools in Naugatuck were put on a precautionary lockdown Monday morning after a person nearby was acting suicidal.

While police investigated the situation on May Street, they informed the Board of Education and requested City Hill Middle School and Maple Hill School be locked down until they had time to assess what was happening.

The person was found and determined to be safe and unharmed. The schools were notified and the lockdowns were lifted.

The lockdown started around 9:30 a.m. and lasted about 30 minutes.
