HAMDEN – Hamden High School was evacuated Wednesday morning due to a bomb threat.
Police say the school’s administration received a telephone call from a male who stated that there was a bomb inside of the building that was “going to go off” around 11:40.
The school’s 1,800 students were evacuated to the bleachers on the football field, and were then moved to the Hamden Ice Rink nearby.
The Hamden Police Department, with the assistance of 4 Connecticut State Police K9 teams, conducted a systematic search of the school and surrounding area. No explosives were found on the premises. The students were allowed to re-enter the school at approximately 1:45p.m.
The Hamden Police Department Major Crimes Division is conducting the investigation.
