HARTFORD- Police have identified the victim of fatal shooting Tuesday morning.
Police said Jose O'Casio, 24 of 833 Park Street in Hartford, was killed in a deadly shooting on Jefferson Street.
Officers say O'Casio was shot multiple times around 1:30 a.m., a block from Hartford Hospital. One person fled the scene and police are talking to a friend of the victim to get more information. Police say someone was stopped by a security patrol near the hospital and questioned, but its unclear if that person is a witness or a suspect.
They are also investigating whether an altercation at the nearby Gulf gas station led to the shooting.
This is Hartford's 13th homicide of the year.
