VERNON–The Vernon Police charged a man with several charges when he was brought to the Rockville Superior Court by the Connecticut Department of Corrections on separate charges.
Joseph Dennis, 32, of Rockville was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary in the first degree, conspiracy to commit criminal mischief in the second degree, conspiracy to commit larceny in the third degree, criminal liability at burglary in the first degree, criminal liability at larceny in the third degree, conspiracy to commit larceny in the second degree and criminal liability at larceny in the second degree.
On Sept. 21 Dennis allegedly committed a commercial burglary at the Four Year Convenience store, located at 60 School St. in Rockville. Along with another suspect, John Papin, Dennis is said to have forced open the back door and stolen lottery tickets and cigarettes. The stolen lottery tickets were later cashed at Erum’s Mini Mart in Rockville.
Both were arrested after a separate crime spree including several armed robberies in the capital region, including two armed robberies in Vernon, and were therefore already in the custody of the Connecticut Department of Corrections.
Dennis was charged for the Sept. 21 incident on Friday during a court appearance, and Papin is expected to be charged in this case when he appears in Rockville Superior Court on Nov. 14.
