MERIDEN – Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened early Wednesday.
Officers were called to the HH Citgo Mart gas station at 1015 Broad St. around 3:45 p.m. where they found the clerk who was shaken but unhurt.Officers determined two masked suspects entered the store wearing white colored “Halloween” type masks.
After the one suspects jumped over the clerk’s counter and the other walked around to the back of the counter. One of the suspects used some type of Electronic Defense Weapon on the victim. The clerk felt the shock from the device but was wearing thick clothing which prevented any injuries.
Police said the suspects were wearing dark colored sweatshirts with the hoods pulled up over their heads as well as masks; but they believe one of the suspects is a black male based on the video from store’s cameras.
An undetermined number of cigarette cartons and cash in a drawer was taken. Anyone who has any information is asked to call (203) 630-6250.
