Two killed in hit and run in Stamford

STAMFORD -- Police are reconstructing a fatal car crash that happened Friday evening on West Main Street at Alvord Lane just after 10:30 p.m.

Police say a Nissan Altima ran a red light and hit the passenger side of a BMW station wagon traveling west crossing the Alvord Lane Junction.

One of the Altima's passengers, Henry Nixon, 50 of Stamford was ejected from the car and died at Stamford Hospital.

The Stamford Fire Department had to extricate both passengers in the BMW.

The driver of the BMW , Anthony Andriulli, 73 of  Cos Cob, was taken to Stamford Hospital and is listed in non life threatening condition with several fractures.

His wife Judith Andriulli, 70, was also taken to Stamford Hospital.  She was pronounced dead this morning as a result of her injuries in the crash.

The Altima's driver fled the scene on foot toward Greenwich. She is described as a black female, approximately 5'5". She was wearing a grey sweatshirt and/or green jacket over blue jeans.

Police are processing evidence from the scene to determine her identity.
