NEW HAVEN--After ending last season with a loss in the Elite Eight against the eventual Division II National Champion, Central Missouri, the Southern Connecticut Owls Men's Basketball team has high hopes for this season.

Senior experience and leadership will be strong assets, with 12 of their 13 players returning. The sole new player was replaced by outstanding junior college transfer and Torrington native Desmond Williams.

SCSU potential has warranted a preseason national rank of number two and they look to prove that ranking this Saturday at the Bridgeport Tournament.
