EAST HARTFORD–An East Hartford High School student is being charged with possessing child pornography and other charges after posting nude and semi-nude photos of female students on a social media site, according to court documents.
Police arrested Brandon Brown, 18, in October. He was arraigned in Manchester Superior Court last week.
Brown’s arrest warrant states that he created an Instagram account in May. He posted more than 20 photos of girls, many of them graphic. He also added sexually explicit comments on the photos before the account was deactivated, the warrant says.
Police tracked down 15 of the victims who said that some of the photos were obtained from social media. The nude photos, they said, were shared “without their permission.”
According to the warrant, a 14-year-old girl who was one of the victims suffered emotionally from the ordeal. The documents say she, “cut herself and her family sought treatment for her due to this emotional distress.”
Police tracked the Instagram account to Brown through his IP address. He admitted to officers that he created the account and posted the photos.
