MANCHESTER – If you watched Family Guy last night, you may have noticed a familiar sight appear on screen after Peter and Brian got drunk on Thanksgiving eve and devoured the turkey.  After an irate Lois demands a replacement for the shredded carcass left in the fridge, Peter and Brian go out to dutifully repay the damage their drunken escapades have caused, only to end up at none other than Highland Park Market in Manchester, CT.

Shocking, eh?  Well, it turns out that one of the writers on Family Guy is none other than the fraternal twin brother of Highland Park Market’s president, Tim Devanney Sr.

Tom Devanney is a credited writer on many different sitcoms, including The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Perfect Strangers, and, according to his nephew, Tim Devanney Jr., has been looking for a way to tie his local roots into the iconic cartoon.  “He thought Highland Park Market would be a cool thing for Peter to go to,” Tim Jr. said.  Cool, indeed.

Manchester has been put on the animated cartoon map, thanks to Family Guy and Highland Park Market.
