WESTPORT —Police are investigating a suspicious death that occurred just after 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

Monday morning, police announced that autopsy results for Sandokan Harrell, 39, of Bridgeport, were inconclusive. They are now conducting further studies which could take up to 6-8 weeks.

A jogger discovered an unresponsive man lying on the shoulder of Patrick Road on Saturday. The man was wearing a white tank top, blue jeans and brown shoes, according to police.

The jogger flagged down a passing driver, who called police.

Both the jogger and driver attempted CPR. The man was taken to Norwalk Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 10 a.m.

Over the weekend, detectives worked to reconstruct the last 12 hours of Harrell’s life. Police say he attended an event at the Arena at Harbor Yard Friday night with friends. But what happened after that is still unknown.

Police believe Harrell experienced some sort of medical issue that resulted in his death, but there were no visible signs of trauma. Police also believe he died some where before he was moved to the Patrick road location.

Police say “The location of the body and the manner in which he was left on the side of the road appears to have been done by someone who both wanted him to be found and cared about him.”

Investigators say they are attempting to locate a brown colored FUBU hooded sweat jacket and black skull type winter hat that Harrell was reportedly wearing around 11 pm on Friday. Police say these items were not found on the mans body.

Westport Police ask anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or unusual around 47 Patrick Road or anyone who had contact with this individual is asked to call the department at (203)-341-6000.
