WEST HAVEN–A fire on Bassett Street in West Haven on Tuesday night left Paul Ryan 60, dead, according to the West Haven fire chief.
Chief James O’Brien said the department received numerous 911 calls Tuesday night reporting smoke in the hallway of an apartment complex. He said crews put out flames in the first floor unit in a matter of minutes, but found a male deceased further inside the apartment.
The fire has been ruled accidental, but investigators are still working to determine how this fire started.
