UPDATE: Travis Gornto, 43, of East Windsor, was transported to the Southington Police Department on Dec. 2 and charged with robbery in the first degree and larceny in the fifth degree. He is being held on a court set bond of $50,000 and was presented in court yesterday.

SOUTHINGTON – It started with a crash in Bristol, involved a robbery in Southington, ended in Derby, and now a suspect is in Yale-New Haven hospital.
Southington Police department said they were alerted that Travis Gornto, who was driving a red Ford F150 pickup, was wanted on Sunday for an incident in Bristol. According to police, Gornto reportedly fled from the scene of an accident at 193 East Main St. in Bristol.
Moments later, they received a report from the Sunoco station at 957 West St. that it had been robbed. Police said suspect had fled with an undetermined amount of money after implying he had a weapon. The description of the robbery suspect matched the description provided by Bristol Police of Gornto and his vehicle. No one was injured in the robbery.
Police said the vehicle was seen in New Haven and later located and the suspect was taken into custody in Derby and was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital for injuries.
The nature of his injuries are unknown at this time.
Southington Police will serve Gornto a warrant for his arrest when he is released. For now he remains in police custody at the hospital.
