HARTFORD--Several Hartford families who lost their homes to a fire less than two weeks ago finally have something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. They received gift baskets, courtesy of Connecticut Interactive, a company that manages the state of Connecticut's website. The baskets included gift cards, clothes, toiletries and toys.

The families said it was a nice surprise considering the fire took their homes and all their possessions. "Everything's gone, so any little thing like that helps," fire survivor Sandra Daniels said.

The families said they may have lost everything, but they're thankful they didn't lose each other.

First-responders made sure of that--they rescued an 8-year-old girl from the burning building on Hamilton Street.
