MANCHESTER - Ben True was the winner of the Manchester Road Race. His friend and training partner Sam Chalenga was right behind him.
This was his second time running the race. He placed 2nd in 2010. After the race, he mentioned that he was a little worried about the roads because of the weather. It took him more than 4 hours to drive a usual 2 hour distance to Manchester.
"It was great to be able to run together. We're great friends," Ben said about Sam.
Diane Nakuri-Johnson was the women's winner. She admits to being a little nervous Wednesday night because of the weather but felt great going into the race Thursday morning. This was her 5th time running the race.
"My strategy was to stay with the pack," Diane said about winning.
