Wallingford entrance ramp reopens after fuel spill

WALLINGFORD – An oil tanker accident leaked fuel causing the closing of an entrance ramp on Friday morning. The ramp has reopened.

The accident happened on the entrance ramp for I-91 northbound at Exit 14. The ramp was closed for several hours.

The fuel leak was going into a nearby waterway. DEEP and the Wallingford fire department were on scene for cleanup.

    Officials know that ethanol is carcinogenic. Do water providers check for ethanol in the supply water for public consumption? Should the Attorney General request conversation with EPA about a waiver of the “Wallet Flushing” ethanol mandate so fuel ethanol ozone is in compliance?
