West Hartford police arrest suspect in sexual assault from 2000

WEST HARTFORD – Police arrested a man in New York City on sexual assault charges from 2000.

Raymond Albert Rodriguez, 34,  was wanted on two counts of sexual assault related to an assault on a 15 year old victim. Rodriguez was 19 at the time of the crime.

Detectives from West Hartford, working with the NYPD Special Victims Unit, took custody of the suspect in the Bronx.

Rodriguez was held on charges of being a fugitive from justice. He waived extradition and was returned to Connecticut.

Rodriguez is being held on a $75,000 bond. He will appear in court on Tuesday.
