MERIDEN–A fire on Britannia Street on Monday destroyed a three-story, three-family home.
The fire, which was first reported just before noon on Monday, started in the back of the structure, and it was put out within 20 minutes.
A cat died in the fire, and six people were displaced. The American Red Cross is helping three families with emergency housing, food and clothes.
The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
