WEST HAVEN--Ed McCarthy has been a head football coach for the past 44 years, including the last 32 for the Blue Devils in West Haven. On Saturday the season ended for the Blue Devils with a 21-14 win over Fairfield Prep.
At the beginning of the season Coach McCarthy said this would be his last, but a recent controversy has him second guessing his decision.
