Black Friday and Cyber Monday came and went this year, brimming over with holiday deals and savings, and many people took advantage.  Today, December 2nd, is everyone’s chance to give back.  According to GivingTuesday.org, “We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back.”

Giving Tuesday is aimed solely at celebrating generosity and giving back however you can, whether that be solely with your family, your company, your organization, or even your entire community.  There are many ways to give back.

The entire town of Greenwich, in fact, is celebrating #GivingTuesday with Greenwich Gives, a fundraising event co-hosted by Greenwich Hospital and Volunteers On Call (VOC).  Throughout the day, participating stores and restaurants on Greenwich Avenue and surrounding streets will offer perks to customers and donate a percentage of proceeds throughout the day to Greenwich Hospital and VOC, not to mention, there will be a nifty raffle with some awesome prizes.

Towns and organizations all over Connecticut are participating in #GivingTuesday this year, like NAMI ConnecticutConnecticut Association for the GiftedThe Connecticut Rivers CouncilConnecticut Chapter of the Red Cross, and The Jewish Federation of Western Connecticut.  Anyone can make a difference, so go to GivingTuesday.org and see what you can do!
