BRIDGEPORT--One security job is trying to inspire kids to do a lot more than just stay safe and out of trouble.
Harry Bell, who is the security officer at the Curiale School in Bridgeport, has created a coloring book after he was unable to find one for his son with inspirational sketches.
But Bell didn't start his hobby by making a book. Initially, he thought he might make fun mugs with sayings. "I had the words in the book for 13 years. I actually didn't know how to bring them to life." After failing to find a book for his son, he went back to the quotes and started sketching pictures to match.
Now he has published "Color a Positive Thought," and the city of Bridgeport is helping him get the book in schools across the state. But this isn't the end of Bell's journey: "I actually have another one in the works."
But Bell still likes his day job, and has a close relationship with the students. "I get hugs and love every day from these kids. It's more than a job to me."
