NEW HAVEN – State and local officials broke ground for a mixed-use development in New Haven’s Route 34 west corridor Wednesday morning.

The development includes a 5.5-acre block bordered by North Frontage Road, Legion Avenue, Orchard Street, and Dwight Street. It is being developed by Middletown-based Centerplan is the developer and plans to build a mixed use project with over 80,000 square feet of  retail and medical office space over the next several years.

Continuum Home Health, Inc., will be the main tenant of the property with a new facility that will serve as its headquarters. It was largely financed  through a $7.5 million grant in aid from the State of Connecticut via the Department of Economic Development.
