HARTFORD – Police arrested three men on drug and gun charges Wednesday, shortly after one of them jumped from a moving car in an attempt to flee.

Detectives had a tip that someone with the street name Corey “Gunz” had a gun and was driving a stolen vehicle in the area of Westland Street and Acton Street.

Police saw a gray SUV with New York plates park in the rear of 2505 Main Street. Police approached when people got out of the SUV, but the operator got back in the vehicle and drove over a grassy area onto Westland Street. The operator then jumped out while the SUV still moving, and began to run up the street. The unoccupied vehicle crashed into a fence at the corner of Westland Street and Main Street. As the suspect ran, police said a firearm fell from his waistband. Police caught up to him at 2 Westland St. and arrested him. Two male subjects inside that address were arrested after they fled the front room of the apartment when the detectives entered. Police said the three suspects were part of the “Hood Star” gang .

Corey Montgomery 19 of Hartford was arrested on gun, burglary and narcotics charges. Andre Davis, 19 of Hartford was arrested on gun and drug charges as was Corey Mackey 19 of Hartford.
