taking on the 11-1 North Branford Thunderbirds for the Class S Small title.

Mid first quarter Thunderbird Nick Sagnella takes the hand off up the middle and goes untouched 27 yards for the North Branford TD as they get on the board first 7-0.

Trailblazers would answer on the ensuing drive from the North Branford four Rayshawn Phillips handles the tough snap and decides to take it himself good decision... as he gets the score but Cap Prep misses the point after so Thunderbirds still have the lead 7-6.

Now in the second quarter North branford punting with a 13-6 lead when Jahkai Gill deflects the punt for the Trailblazers then Lamar Butler grabs it out of the air and takes a stroll to the house plus a two point conversion and Capital Prep grabs a 14-13 lead.

Then late in the fourth Trailblazers lead 20-13 with a fourth and goal from the one looking to seal the deal, Phillips again on the keeper but the Thunderbird defense comes up with the big stop.

North Branford has three minutes to go the length of the field for game tieing score last chance fourth and two from the Prep 19 Paul Pastet throughs right under pressure and the pass is knocked down by Daniel Rector for Capital Prep that means Coach Chris Fulton gets the best cold shower of his life and Capital Prep gets its first state title with the 20-13 win.
