BRIDGEPORT - Police, detectives, family members and friends of Evelyn Agyei are asking for the public's assistance with information on the Dec. 4 hit-and-run accident that killed the 51 year-old mother.

Agyei died when her Subaru veered off of the road and crashed into a tree after a white sport utility vehicle collided with her car several times.  Her 11 year-old son Michael was in the car with her and survived.  The crash occurred in the 1100 block of Boston Avenue around 6:30 a.m. on Dec. 4, and police are seeking additional information about the other vehicle that left the scene of the incident.

“We want to secure justice for Evelyn,” said Police Chief Joseph L. Gaudett Jr. “We want to get justice for her family. Our detectives have been following every lead and today we are asking again for the public’s assistance.”

Based on the footage, investigators believe the unknown  vehicle was a late model BMW X3, and officials stress that if anyone notices any recent front-end damage on a similar car should come forward. That could come from a neighbor, a witness or an auto body shop.

"We really need help from the public, any information at all, to give this family some closure,'' Gaudett said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 203-581-5236 or 203-591-5290.
