For decades now, Marvel Comics have been bursting with color.  But now, this year they have grown to reflect the hues and tones of actual American society.  Quite a few classic Marvel Comics characters have been recreated in 2014 with a new, much more diverse look.

Captain America originally appeared as Steve Rogers in 1941, and has been recreated in 2014 as Sam Wilson.

Spider-Man originally appeared as Peter Parker in 1963, and has been re-created as Miles Morales in 2014.

Ms. Marvel originally appeared as Carol Danvers in 1977, and has been re-created in 2014 as Kamala Kahn.

Thor originally appeared as a man in 1962, and has been re-created as a woman in the 2014 version.
