NEW BRITAIN--A lot of questions remained surrounding the death of a New Britain baby, just three weeks old.

Janell Campbell, 22, was arraigned Tuesday on one count each of Manslaughter 2nd Degree and Risk Of Injury To Children.

Campbell is accused of causing the December 5th death of Jaleah Jayde Quintero, who wasn't even a month old.

A friend of Campbell told Fox CT that it was an accident, that Campbell and the baby were sleeping together and she rolled onto the baby.

Jaleah's family said that's untrue.  Even though the arrest warrant remained sealed, the family revealed that Jaleah suffered bruising on three parts of her tiny body.

Jaleah's mother, Marrysa Vega, later told Fox CT that she left her baby with Campbell for just 20 minutes to step out of her house.

"I just need time to just get through everything, my daughter's funeral was just yesterday, I'm not ready for this, I'm really not, I just want my daughter's name, Jaleah Jayde Quintero to go out there," Vega said after the arraignment.

The judge set bond for Campbell at $250,000.

She is due back in court on January 5.
