TAUNTON, MASS – A Massachusetts woman was rescued — after her car fell off the side of a bridge and into a river monday.
The car then drifted down-river in a brisk current.
Rescue workers had to move quickly and carefully to get her out and their swift action paid off.
Crews in special suits, tethered by ropes, ventured into the chilly waters, pulled the female driver from her car, which was partially submerged in the mill river.
Authorities were tipped off by a call from the car’s Onstar system.
The woman was alert and communicating with crews during the rescue.
Beyond that, her exact condition is not known.
