ASTORIA (PIX11) — A New York man was arrested after he killed his mom’s 1-year-old dog by throwing it down a trash compactor Thursday night, the New York Post reported.
Kamel Wilder, 26, snapped at the Yorkie named Chewy because he wouldn’t stop barking, police said. He allegedly grabbed the dog and threw him from the sixth-floor garbage chute at his home on Astoria Boulevard and 32nd Street to stop the noise.
“Defenseless. How could he do this to an innocent puppy?” a neighbor said to the Post, adding that a newborn baby is also living in the apartment.
Wilder was arrested and charged with aggravated cruelty to an animal, police said. The charge is considered a felony.
