UConn coach to host children’s holiday party
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — The University of Connecticut’s men’s basketball team is hosting a holiday party for Hartford children.
Coach Kevin Ollie and the Huskies will spend part of Saturday at the Northwest Boys & Girls Club for an event they are calling Kevin Ollie’s Christmas For Hartford’s Children.
About 200 people from 75 families have been invited. The team says Ollie and some players also will visit with two families who live near the club.
Other members of the team will conduct numerous basketball activities for the older children at the club, while other Huskies participate in arts and crafts with younger children.
The event includes a pizza party, gifts for the children and an autograph session with the Huskies.
