WATERBURY — Police in Waterbury are investigating a possible homicide after a body was found at the end of a driveway.

Police received a call from a Mitchell Avenue resident about a man on the ground in the driveway of 34 Mitchell Ave. around 7:45 a.m. Thursday.

Police arrived and pronounced the man dead on the scene.

Detectives have interviewed residents nearby.

“When I got up today, I looked out the window and I saw him laying on the ground over there, all full of blood. I couldn’t tell who it was,” a resident of 34 Mitchell Avenue, Charles Mastropietro, said.

Police believe the victim lives in the area but have not positively identified him. He does not live at the Mitchell Avenue address where he was found, they said.

The man’s cause of death will be determined in an autopsy on Friday morning.
