Police seize 4 guns, “large amount of” heroin in New Year’s Eve bust

HARTFORD — Hartford police made a major drug and firearm bust Wednesday night.

Police executed a search warrant of an apartment on Gillette Street with help from the FBI.

They found three loaded handguns, one shotgun, and a “large amount of” heroin, police said.

They also found a lot of cash, but the total amount was not specified.

Jose Perez, 28, was arrested and charged with destruction of evidence, risk of injury, possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell narcotics, possession with intent to sell near a school, drug factory, possession of a pistol, possession of a stolen firearm, criminal possession of a firearm, obliterated serial number.
