NEWTOWN — The families of two of the victims from the Sandy Hook Tragedy are suing the Town of Newtown and its Board of Education, claiming the school did not have enough security in place on December 14, 2012.

The parents of Jesse Lewis and Noah Pozner served the Town of Newtown with the lawsuit on Friday. Their children were among the 20 students killed the morning of the tragedy.

In the lawsuit, the Lewis and Pozner families claim Sandy Hooks’ teachers were unable to follow the school’s security procedures and policies.

The families allege the teachers were only able to lock classroom doors from the outside with keys and that there was no security glass on the front of the school building. Additionally, the lawsuit claims a teacher in one of the classrooms where students were killed was a substitute who did not have a key or know the security procedures.

Donald Papcsy, attorney for the Lewis and Pozner families, said he is hopeful the town will work with them to resolve the matter.

The town has not commented on the lawsuit.

Last month, nine of the victims’ families filed a lawsuit against the makers and sellers of the Bushmaster AR-15, the weapon used by Adam Lanza.
