HAMDEN- A transformer fire in the area of Dixwell and Whitney avenue knocked out power in areas of Hamden and North Haven for a brief time on Saturday evening.
According to United Illuminating’s outage map, at 7:05pm, 1,431 customers in Hamden and 312 customers in North Haven were without power.
Police say power was restored around 8:10 p.m.
