STORRS - UConn women’s coach Geno Auriemma earned his 900th career win on Tuesday night as the No. 2 Huskies topped Cincinnati with a 96-36 win.
Auriemma, a member of both the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, becomes the eighth head coach in women’s college basketball history to reach the 900-win mark, and only the third coach to have all of his wins netted at UConn.
The UConn Huskies women's basketball is ranked second in the nation as a team averaging over 21 assists a game. Four Huskies are averaging over three assists including forwards Breanna Stewart and Morgan Tuck. So far, UConn has a 21-1 AAC record for the 2014-15 season, with 11-0 in conference play.
