Suspect sought in Ledyard assault

LEDYARD–Connecticut State Police are investigating an assault in Ledyard.

Police responded on Sunday, February 8 to a home on Coachman Pike on reports of a serious assault. The call came in around 12:50 a.m.

A male victim was found with what appeared to be stab wounds. He was taken to Backus Hospital, treated, and then transported to Hartford Hospital for further treatment.

No one else was hurt.

nicholas harris 2The investigation, conducted by State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad, revealed the victim was in a fight with another man at the home. The suspect fled.

Police interviewed witnesses  and analyzed evidence from the scene to determine that Nicholas Harris, 22, was the suspect who fled. Harris lives at the home in which the assault occurred.

An arrest warrant was issued for Harris charging him with assault and risk of injury to a minor.

State Police believe Harris is in eastern Connecticut and are asking for the public’s help to locate him. If you recognize the man in the photos or have any information, call State Police at 860-848-6500.
