Putin announces cease-fire in eastern Ukraine

MINSK, Belarus (CNN) — Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday that all parties taking part in the Ukraine peace talks in Minsk, Belarus, have agreed to a ceasefire starting February 15. “I call on both sides to end the bloodshed as soon as possible” and come to a real political solution to the conflict, he told reporters in Minsk, adding that all sides have agreed to pull back heavy weapons.
