Hartford homicide suspect arrested and charged

HARTFORD – After an investigation, police have arrested and charged Tevin Jiles, 22, of Hartford, for the murder of Michael Leon, 28, on Wednesday, Jan. 28.

Leon was found unresponsive on Garden Street in Hartford, suffering from multiple gun shots, when police arrived on scene.  EMS pronounced the victim dead on scene and the Hartford PD Major Crimes Division initiated an investigation.

After locating evidence and witnesses, detectives pinpointed Tevin “Man Man” Jiles, who lives on Garden Street, and obtained an arrest warrant on Friday, Feb. 20.  Detectives located the suspect walking down Garden Street and took of into custody without incident.

Jiles, a convicted felon with nine previous Hartford arrests, was booked and charged with the murder of Michael Leon and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.  He is being held on a $1,000,000 judge-set bond and will be arraigned tomorrow.
