MIDDLETOWN -- Three students from Wesleyan University appeared in court Wednesday after police arrested them in connection to molly drug overdoses on campus over the weekend. A fourth student was also arrested, but bonded out and is expected to appear in court at a later date.

Middletown Police named the students as Rama Agha Al Nakib, 20, Zachary Kramer, 21, Eric Lonergan, 21, and Andrew Olson, 20. Olson posted bail and will be due in court next week.

Police found more than 600 Xanax tablets in Al Nakib's room, and the junior admitted to cops that she sells those pills to students. A student witness identified Al Nakib and Lonergan as students who produce and sell molly. Al Nakib was charged with possessing a controlled substance with intent to sell and drug paraphernalia.

Al Nakib accused Kramer of bringing the bad batch of molly to campus that sent the students to the hospital. Police found marijuana, a digital scale and about 200 nitrous oxide cartridges in Kramer's room. Just for background, Kramer has a 4.0 GPA as a neuroscience major.

Meanwhile, Olson faces charges of possessing and selling a hallucinogen. Kramer is accused of possessing drug paraphernalia, a regulated substance, and a small amount of marijuana.

All four of the students have been suspended by the university.

Twelve people at Wesleyan were hospitalized because of the party drug MDMA, or molly, late Saturday night and into Sunday morning. School officials said there are two Wesleyan students still being treated at Hartford Hospital.

“This particular batch may have led, may have had a mixture of several kinds of designer drug chemicals, making the health risks unpredictable and treatment to combat the effects complex and problematic,” Chief William McKenna said Tuesday night.

Police are continuing to investigate this and collect evidence from the incident to figure out exactly where the drugs came from.
