A new study found that many parents are asking doctors to spread out their toddlers’ vaccines, instead of following the recommended schedule.

Researchers with the journal Pediatrics said that, often, doctors are giving into those requests from parents, even though that could put children at risk for otherwise preventable diseases.

The study’s authors said only about 2 to 3 percent of parents actually refuse vaccines all-together, but the amount of families looking to spread out immunizations is much higher.

93 percent of doctors said that they had been asked at least once to delay vaccines.

The World Health Organization has issued a new warning that roughly 1.1 billion teens and young adults are at risk of hearing loss.

The W.H.O. said the risk is from over-exposure to music players, smart phones, loud concerts and nightclubs.

Based on studies from middle and high income countries, about half of people aged 12 to 35 are exposed to unsafe levels of sound.
