ROCHESTER, NY -The parents of a missing student from Fairfield are hopeful for a positive outcome, but say they understand the odds.

Police and Rochester Institute of Technology Public Safety personnel said  last Sunday they were looking for Max Maisel of Fairfield. The school said Maisel is a third-year professional photographic illustration student at RIT and was last seen on Sunday evening leaving the Perkins Green apartment complex near campus.

In a statement reported in USA Today, his parents, Ivan Maisel and Meg Murray, said:

“While (law enforcement officials) have urged us not to leap to any conclusions about Max’s fate, logic indicates that it will not end well, we continue to be buoyed by the love and support of friends and family from across the country.”

Rochester police searched the Charlotte Pier area with out finding anything.

Police said there is no indication of foul play. Anyone with information is asked to call 585-428-6293.
