STORRS - Young adults stay up all night, dancing and socializing, until they literally can't stand anymore. A wild college bender? Nope. The excitement surrounds the largest student-run philanthropic event in the state: the University of Connecticut HuskyTHON. "It is the most selfless thing I've ever seen. It's 2,000 kids coming together for something greater than themselves," says senior Mike McLachlan, of the 18-hour dance marathon that benefits Connecticut Children's Medical Center. The event doesn't just involve students. HuskyTHON brings dozens of parents together, united through CCMC, as their children fight incredibly serious illnesses.
